about

LICARI co is about maintaining a maker mentality and enjoying an adventure lifestyle.

My bikes are purpose built with lasting quality being the cornerstone. Whatever I do, I do with the thought of, “What would grandpa say if he were here?” In the mindset of the good old days when every task was done right, and done once. That’s the maker mentality.

My Name is AdamJames Licari, thanks for taking the time to view some of my work…

LICARI co isn’t some big production facility, it’s just one man, his hands and skills in a workshop. I cut my teeth rebuilding old dirtbikes and vintage cars in my father’s garage as a young boy. I’ve been doing this my entire life. My father, a mechanic and machinist, instilled within me the value of quality craftsmanship, through teaching me how to fabricate, build engines, troubleshoot automotive systems, paint, run a lathe, and the basic principles of engineering. His father, a carpenter, handed down those same core values to him before. An immigrant from southern Italy, that was just the way things were done… done right, done once.

My traditional schooling landed me a degree in Manufacturing Engineering & Industrial Design from Arizona State University. In those fields I focused on not just creating products, but how things are made, and the relationships between materials and various components within a system.

He who works with his hands is a laborer
He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman
He who works with his hands, his head and his heart is an artist

If you are looking for a performance engine build, a complete restoration, or a totally custom machine, reach out to me and I would love to talk with you about your goals and your project.

As nature would have it, rambling across the mountains on motorcycle campouts while going to hundreds of shows, I got into photography. Always having to track down a photographer and coordinate a shoot of a vehicle I had finished became an annoyance. So over the years I have developed many skills in this field, and upgraded my gear to follow suit. This has allowed me to capture my projects how I see fit. All the photos on this site are my own, with the exception of a handful of me taken by friends. My professional photography services are available upon request. Shoot me an email if you could use them, I’d love to capture your beloved machine in time.
