I have owned way more than my fair share of vintage vehicles, lots of trucks, as well as diesels. I have always wanted some 50 year old Ford steel with a diesel in it however. I searched high and low, bought and sold, looking for the right set up. Finally I arrived at what you see here, my 1970 F250, sporting the venerable 12 valve Cummins turbo diesel from a `97 Ram 2500 with a 5 speed New Venture 4500 transmission and a Dana 60 semi float rear end. 100% mechanical with a massive intercooler, this ol girl boasts 215HP and nearly 450ft/lbs of torque on a factory tune. She gets damn near 22MPG while doing it as well, which I don’t hate. More importantly, she is reliable, while being able to haul anything I could ever want to throw behind that bumper.

The day I bought Suzy here, I rode from LA down to San Diego on my little 1979 Yamaha SR500. We made a deal, and I muscled my bike into the back and drove home. Since then we’ve covered tens of thousands of miles road tripping all across the South West making memories and turning heads. She is currently my daily drive and will remain that way for years to come. This shop truck is perfect for picking up and dropping off motorcycles, engines, parts, towing a flatbed with a couple trucks on it, and road tripping across this magnificent country of ours. Modern creature comforts such as a new A/C system, fully Dynamatted and insulated interior, hot stereo and Energy Suspension poly urethane bushings make the adventuring all the more pleasing.

Most don’t anticipate the shear amount of small things that add up in any engine swap. There always seems to be just one more little something you didn’t think of. In spite of all that, I have complete working gauges including the smoothest speedometer I’ve seen in a 50 year old truck, coolant temp, oil pressure, boost, and a diesel tach.
